Website Upload Options

To open the Uploading Options Properties window:

  1. On the View menu, select the Resource Manager submenu, and then select Websites.

  2. In the Websites Manager resource panel, make sure that the Websites tab is selected.

  3. All websites are displayed with the following website file icon: . Right-click over a website name and select Properties.

  4. Select Upload Options on the tree view of the WebSite Properties dialog.

Upload Location

Ticking the Upload to Local Directory check box upload your website locally to your computer or onto an intranet. This can be especially useful if you have added publish fields to your document and would like a local copy of the published website. Doing this also allows you to see what the published documents will look like prior to uploading to your server.

File Management

There are three uploading options. Each deals with the different ways HotDog treats files at the upload location. Decide whether you want HotDog to overwrite existing identical files on your server or not. If you are unsure, select Always Overwrite Existing Files.

Always Overwrite Existing Files.

HotDog will automatically overwrite any existing files as it is uploading.

Ask To Overwrite Existing Files.

If a file already at the upload location has the same name as a file about to be uploaded, HotDog will ask you to confirm whether you really wish to already uploaded file.

Only Upload Files Newer than those on Server.

HotDog will only upload those files that are newer (i.e. changed) from those at the upload location.

Upload Tags

To open the Upload Tags window:

  1. Follow steps 1. to 4. above.

  2. Select Upload Tags under Upload Options on the tree view of the WebSite Properties dialog.

Document Support Files to Upload

These check boxes let you control what happens to the files associated with your webpage (images and so on) when you upload to your server. Usually you will want to publish all linked files. To do this, ensure that every check box has been ticked.

NOTE

  • In Step 3. above, you should be right-clicking over the website name, not any of the files that are included with the website.
